Tomorrow is Free Fishing Day in Texas, the one day of the year when anglers can fish on any public body of water without a license. (Kids under 17 aren’t required to have a license at all, and adults can always fish license-free in Texas State Parks.) The event is part of a national celebration — National Fishing & Boating Week, which goes on until June 12.
Free fishing days are a perfect opportunity for beginners to try out fishing for the first time. If you already have a fishing license, consider taking a friend or family member who has never been fishing out on the water for the day!
