Who Can Join?
Pack 196 welcomes all children, boys and girls, in kindergarten through fifth grade. Older scouts are also encouraged to get started in scouting through our Boy Scout Troop 196.
How Do I Join?
The first step is either coming to a regular pack meeting or attending the annual recruiting event held near the beginning of the school year. See the next paragraph for information about where to come. (You can register or renew your Scout’s membership online via our site!)
There is more to joining a Cub Scout Pack than simply completing a membership application and paying dues. A candidate for Cub Scouts needs to meet other requirements, too. (For more information about the financial and time commitments involved, check out our Parent Handbook.)
The Scout will need to purchase the appropriate handbook for the Den in which he’ll be participating. The Scout will need to meet all the requirements in order to earn the first badge in Cub Scouting: the Bobcat badge. The Scoutmaster will then talk with the Scout to make sure he knows what it means to be a Scout. The Scout will then be officially welcomed into Pack 196.
Where and When Do We Meet?
Pack 196 meets every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday of the month at Cross Tracks Church (formerly known as the LHUMC) in downtown Liberty Hill from 7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Check our public calendar for specific dates.

The pack also participates in community service activities, campouts and other events apart from the regular pack meetings.
